Erath County commissioners approve routine budget transfers, vendor agreements and appointments; open Mountain Lakes overlay bid

Erath County's commissioners court on Feb. 23 approved a series of routine financial and operational items, took appointments related to a regional transmission-line planning agreement, and opened bids for a road overlay project.

The court approved a $26,000 transfer within the volunteer fire department's budget to reallocate existing funds where needed. A motion to approve the adjustment passed unanimously.

County staff presented invoices totaling $334,280.40 and the court voted to direct the county treasurer to disperse the funds. Treasurer Angie Showers provided the financial backdrop in the meeting: "Receipts are $16,723,755.75," she said, and she reported total cash and invested funds of $46,817,653.97 for the county.

The court approved a lease and maintenance agreement for a copier to support the GIS/911 addressing office (lease cost cited in the discussion as roughly $180 per month and covered in that office's budget). For procurement, the court opened sealed bids for the Mountain Lakes overlay project; one bid from DFW Paving LLC was read that included options for 1.5-inch or 2-inch asphalt overlays plus mobilization for a total of $484,620.
