Board approves new sheriff's print shop coordinator position; classification and salary range established

The Imperial County Board of Supervisors approved two linked personnel items Feb. 10 to support the Sheriff's Office print shop. Staff said the print shop has served operational and vocational training roles for more than 30 years and that a coordinator position is needed to oversee current operations and expand vocational training for incarcerated individuals.
Sheriff's Office representatives explained the print shop produces forms and signage used across corrections and patrol operations and also supports vocational training tied to real-world print-shop skills. County staff said the new position will not impact the general fund because it will be funded through the Community Corrections Partnership allocation and that the executive membership board of CCP had approved the funding.
The board moved and approved both the addition and the related item to establish the print shop coordinator classification and salary range under the Sheriff's Association. Supervisors thanked staff for explaining both operational need and funding provenance.
