Following a closed session at the end of its Jan. 27 meeting, the Butte County Board of Supervisors reported the board had unanimously directed County Counsel to initiate a civil action.
The report out stated: "The board has voted unanimously to direct County Council to initiate a civil action. Once that action has been formally commenced the defendants and other particulars of the action may be disclosed to any person upon request," a county attorney told the board.
The board provided no additional details during the public meeting; staff said particulars will be disclosed once the action is formally filed and made available to requesters.
