Vice Chair Cech and others cautioned that relying primarily on video risks losing searchable text and historical context, especially when platform changes occur. County counsel clarified video retention is currently maintained about three years in library policy, though county archives in practice go back further. The board gave staff direction to prepare action minutes for the near term and to ensure records and retention implications are addressed.
No formal vote was recorded to adopt a permanent change; the matter was discussed and staff received direction to proceed with an implementation approach that preserves access to substantive context as practicable.
