Board conditionally approves month-to-month lease with Town of San Tan Valley

The board conditionally approved a lease agreement Jan. 21 between Pinal County (landlord) and the Town of San Tan Valley (tenant) for use of county-owned property at 31505 North Neff Road for municipal offices and related functions. Joe Ortiz, Development Services managing director, said the lease is month-to-month with either party able to terminate with 180 days'written notice and that approval is conditioned on a statutory public-notice period under A.R.S. 11-256.01 ending at 9:59 a.m. on Jan. 29, 2026.
Ortiz said the agenda packet did not include the proposed map at posting time, but the map was available to the clerk as "Exhibit A" and will be added to the record. He said the clerk is authorized to record the fully executed lease after the public-notice period if no alternative bids are received, and noted the statute requires unanimous board consent for the transaction.
A motion to conditionally approve the lease (with the recording instruction and ARS conditions included) was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote with no recorded opposition. The clerk will post the recorded lease after 9:59 a.m. on Jan. 29, 2026 if the public-notice window yields no competing bids.
