Ferguson supervisors approve HMP, adopt CIP plan amendment, clear consent agenda and authorize towing‑ordinance advertisement

Hazard Mitigation Plan: After a public hearing and a staff presentation, the board adopted the Centre County 2025 FEMA Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP). Township staff and consultant input, including participation by regional emergency management personnel, were cited as meeting FEMA guidelines and preserving eligibility for federal mitigation funding such as FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program and BRIC.
Capital Improvement Plan (CIP): The board held a public hearing on the draft 2026–2030 CIP. Board members and residents commended the document's comprehensiveness and requested a concise executive summary for public consumption. The board amended the resolution to replace the term “budget” with “capital improvement program plan” throughout the document and adopted the amended resolution.
Towing ordinance advertisement: The board authorized staff to legally advertise a proposed amendment to Chapter 15 to modernize regulations for towing, impoundment and storage facilities and to allow the board to set operational standards by resolution; staff aims to present the ordinance for hearing at the Aug. 19 meeting.
