Harris Township supervisors voted July 8 to approve street closures for a glow ride event organized by Bike Boost on Aug. 17 and to authorize the use of Bowlesburg Firefighters for event support.
Staff summarized the proposed route and requested closures for West Main Street (Diamond to Wagner), Wagner Street (Main to Church), West Pine Street (Wagner to Church) and Church Street (Pine to the Diamond). Organizers described the event as a continuous loop for families, with a staging/decoration area at 8 p.m. and a ride start announcement around 8:30 p.m. They said they would distribute flyers to residents in advance and staff recommended additional notification in the COG e‑update.
The board approved the road closures unanimously and also voted to allow Bowlesburg Firefighters to assist during the event from 7:30–9:30 p.m. Supervisors discussed notification timing — generally about a week in advance — and the organizers agreed to coordinate signage and door‑to‑door flyers to avoid surprising residents.
Separately, the board also approved a neighborhood block party street closure for Meadowlark Lane on July 20 from noon to 9 p.m.
