The Village of Saint Charles council approved a temporary use of the library’s public parking lot to host YMCA food-distribution activities every Tuesday from June 16 through Aug. 16.
A council member introduced the request and asked staff whether the distribution would require only two spots or additional space for food trucks; the request as presented sought two parking spots. After brief discussion about how the village has historically handled similar requests for events such as the haunted house and Hometown Days, a motion to approve the library's request passed by voice vote.
Council members asked staff to confirm exact logistics (number of spaces occupied, arrival times and whether food trucks would be used) before the distribution begins so parking impacts can be managed. There was no additional permitting or fee discussion documented at the meeting.
