Greenville — The Greenville City Council suspended rules and approved five resolutions during Monday's meeting, authorizing several intergovernmental agreements, procurement steps and a professional services contract.
Council moved to suspend the rules and read by title before adopting the following measures by roll call vote:
- A resolution amending the agreement with the Darke County Commissioners regarding costs for the Darke County General Health District office space; the motion to adopt was made by Mister Godwin and carried on council roll call.
- A resolution authorizing a vehicle service agreement with the Darke County Commissioners that allows city use of the county service garage; council moved and approved the measure.
- A resolution authorizing the mayor to enter into a contract with the Darke County Commissioners to provide prosecution services for misdemeanor cases within the city; council passed the resolution after suspending rules.
- A resolution authorizing advertising for bids for the lime slaker replacement at the city's water treatment plant; staff said the engineer's estimate is roughly $500,000. The motion to adopt was made by Mister Norris and council confirmed the bid advertisement authority.
- A resolution authorizing the Safety Service Director to contract with Choice 1 Engineering for professional services related to a stormwater study in Greenville's southeast side (near Sater Street); the resolution was adopted following the usual suspension and readings by title.
Council discussion on the lime slaker replacement included budget placement and an engineer's estimate; no council member spoke in opposition to any of the five items during the meeting. Staff will proceed with contract execution or bid advertisement as authorized by the respective resolutions.
