The Community Police Review Board voted to establish a CPRB ad hoc committee to support the board’s 2026 priorities and to assist with preparation of the annual report.
During that agenda item, members discussed a range of possible ad hoc topics, including a strategic partnerships group to coordinate community events and outreach, and a ‘know your rights’ ad hoc to focus on education and community demonstrations. Several members said some ad hocs should be ‘parked’ until more members are present, while others urged setting deadlines and clear goals for any ad hoc created.
Chairwoman Beasley Day asked for a motion to create the ad hoc; following a second, the clerk conducted a roll call and the motion carried.
The chair noted the bylaws allow the chair to appoint members to the ad hoc and that the group may be formed with fewer than the maximum number of members and expanded later. The board directed staff to notify absent members and confirm participation and timelines for the annual report ad hoc.
