Board approves routine maintenance, health‑life‑safety amendments and personnel items

Blacktop replacement: The board approved a bid from Martin and Company for $49,382.50 to resurface and stripe the teachers’ lot at Washington School. Administrators said three bids were solicited and the selected bid included line painting; the bid exceeded the small maintenance project grant estimate by roughly $3,000 and the district will cover the difference from county facility sales tax funds.
Health Life Safety amendments: The board approved an amendment for the Dixon High School roof replacement after bids came in higher than the architects’ budget (architect estimate $147,500; bids reported approximately $53,200 more). The board also approved an amendment to replace stage curtains at Madison and Dixon High School; administrators said the existing curtains were at the end of their useful life and a one‑for‑one replacement was recommended.
Emma Hubbs Tennis Courts: The board approved a resolution to transfer $15,000 from the county facility sales tax fund to the Dixon Park District for repairs and maintenance of the Emma Hubbs Tennis Courts, citing continued use by Dixon High School tennis programs.
Personnel: The board approved personnel items including resignations, retirements and numerous coaching assignments and volunteer coaches for the 2025–26 school year. Roll call votes recorded ayes from the members present.
