Dixon school board upholds expulsion of student E11646 after closed-session hearing

The Dixon Community Unit School District 170 Board of Education voted in open session on Feb. 18 to expel student E11646 following a closed‑session disciplinary hearing.

According to a resolution read in open session, the board reviewed evidence presented at a formal hearing conducted by Superintendent Margo Impin and by the principal of Reagan Middle School, Matt McAfee. The board “sustains the findings and recommendations” presented by district administrators and resolved that student E11646 be expelled effective 02/02/2026 through the remainder of the 2526 school year and the entirety of the 2627 school year. The resolution states the district will permit the student to attend the Regional Office of Education’s Center for Change in Rock Falls so the student can continue to receive instruction; if the student is removed from that placement for any reason, the expulsion will remain in effect for the stated period.

The resolution also includes a no‑trespass restriction: the expelled student is barred from all Dixon Public Schools property, activities and events during the expulsion period.
