Royal Palm Beach parks update: rec-center expansion at 60% drawings; multiple projects moving to bidding

A staff member said the goal is a mid-to-late-November permit submission and that crews could have shovels in the ground as early as January. The staff presentation noted the review is addressing technical items such as outlet locations and other user-driven details.
Staff also said the covered entrance at the cultural center is nearly complete and expected by early October. The repurposing of the Veterans Park splash-pad area is in landscape-architecture review and is expected to go to bid in October. Contracts for lighting upgrades at Bob Marcello field were awarded and a preconstruction meeting occurred; shop drawings are under contractor review and materials ordered from Musco Lighting.
Other work cited included newly installed disc-golf pads on the north course (remaining work: distance markers) and repainting and roof replacement at the soccer-field concessions building. For artificial turf at the CAD soccer fields, staff said a grant application is pending and no decision has been announced.
