Morris County commissioners approve minutes, communications, resolutions and bills; meeting ends

The Morris County Board of County Commissioners met in Morristown on Oct. 8, 2025. The board approved minutes from the Sept. 24, 2025 meetings, approved two communications on the agenda, adopted resolutions by roll call and approved a motion to pay county bills before adjourning the meeting.
At the start of the meeting the chair called roll and confirmed the presence of commissioners and key staff, including county administrator Dina Leary and assistant county administrator Brian Murray. The clerk announced that public notices for the meeting were posted on the county website, filed with the Morris County Clerk and sent to local media in accordance with a resolution the board adopted Jan. 3, 2025.
During the business portion the board moved to approve the 09/24/2025 work session, executive session and regular meeting minutes. A motion was made and seconded; the minutes were approved with one recorded abstention by Commissioner Deborah Smith. The board then approved two communications on the agenda by voice vote.
The board next considered and approved a slate of resolutions. A motion to adopt the resolutions was moved and seconded; the clerk read a roll call in which Commissioner Smith, Commissioner Shaw, Commissioner Cabana, Commissioner Krickis, Commissioner Myers and Director Salin were recorded as voting "Yes." The clerk then called for a motion to pay the county bills; after that motion the roll-call record shows Chair Cabana, Deputy Director Shaw and Director Salin voting "Yes," and the motion carried.
Commissioner Deborah Smith offered remarks acknowledging Oct. 7 as the second anniversary of the Oct. 7, 2023 attack in Israel, asked the board and audience to pray for peace and for hostages, and referenced Ron Arad by name. The chair then called for a motion to adjourn; the motion carried and the meeting was closed.
No ordinances were introduced at the meeting, and no formal requests for county funding or staff commitments were recorded during the public-comment period.
