East Hanover planner asks Morris County to remove parcel from official map; board sets adoption for Dec. 17

The submission states that East Hanover was informed during its municipal review that the property owner can eliminate the preservation status at any time and the land is therefore not permanently preserved; the township requested removal of the "non‑county open space" designation from the county map.
Chair closed the hearing after noting no one had come forward to speak in person. The chair said the resolution to adopt the revisions to the Morris County official map will be on the board's Dec. 17 agenda for formal action.
The board did not discuss or respond on the record to the substance of East Hanover's request during the Dec. 3 meeting. The written comment and any staff reports should be part of the Dec. 17 agenda packet and county staff records associated with the official map process.
