The Morris County Board of Commissioners opened a public hearing Dec. 3 limited to proposed revisions to the Morris County official map and read one written comment from the appointed planner for East Hanover Township.
Madam Clerk read a submission from Darlene Green, senior project manager at Colliers Engineering and Design, who identified herself as East Hanover’s appointed planner and asked the board to modify the draft official map to remove Block 5, Lot 1 (addressed in the comment as 780 Ridgetale Avenue) from the map’s designation of “non county open space,” arguing the property is not permanently preserved. The submission states the property is owned by Wildlife Preserves Inc. and references a pending application for preliminary and final minor site plan approval that would allow outdoor storage of construction vehicles and equipment on an 11.769-acre portion of the lot.
Director Salas closed the public hearing after noting no one came forward to speak in person and said a resolution to adopt the map revisions will be on the board’s Dec. 17 agenda.
No action to change the map was taken at the Dec. 3 meeting; the written comment was entered into the record and the matter is scheduled for a formal resolution vote on Dec. 17, 2025.
