Miss White, reporting for the construction core team, told the board the exterior of the new school is nearly complete and interior trades (masonry, drywall, painting and mechanical work) are underway. She said the glazing (window installation) is expected around November and that roofing and interior finish work are in progress.
Miss White also reported the Portage Trail widening and the new turning lane are complete and will enter final punch-list closeout at month’s end. She said furniture installation is ongoing, the planetarium and greenhouse projects are advancing with donated support, and special-education touchscreen displays are being fitted to moveable mounts so students can interact directly.
The board agreed to public community tours on Oct. 19 (9 a.m.–noon) and a planning committee meeting on Oct. 18. Construction staff warned that, for safety reasons, attendees will not be permitted to wear open-toed shoes or bring walkers/wheelchairs until elevators are operational; the district said it will arrange separate access for community members who cannot safely use the construction tour route.
Miss White said the stadium work is scheduled later this fall and that more details will be discussed at future meetings.
