The board moved through several procedural items and approved them by voice vote.
A motion to adjust professional-development days—moving some PD days to the end of the year to preserve student days if future weather closures occur—was made and carried by voice vote.
Miss Carter moved to approve the district calendar and the motion carried. Later, Mister Swift moved and Mister Ford seconded approval of the board meeting calendar (monthly meetings on the second Tuesday with an October adjustment for fall break); that motion also carried by voice vote.
The board also approved a pre-vetted list of impartial hearing officers recommended by the board attorney to avoid calling special meetings when due-process hearings arise. Miss Carter made the motion to adopt the impartial hearing officer list, Miss Sailor seconded it, and the board approved the list by voice vote.
All three items were approved on the committee recommendation; the transcript records voice votes rather than a roll-call, and does not include numeric vote tallies in the minutes.
