Henderson County school board elects officers, approves consent items and adds teachers to tenure list

The Henderson County School Board approved its regular and consent agendas and elected new officers during its meeting. The board accepted nominations, and motions carried by voice vote to name leadership for the coming year.
Board members also voted to add three teachers who had been omitted from last month’s tenure list. Superintendent-level speaker S3 named Michelle Bowman and Ryan Bivens among those recommended for tenure and praised their classroom and coaching work. A motion to add the names to the tenure list was made, seconded and carried.
The board read certificates for the newly tenured educators. No formal challenges or amendments to the tenure motion were raised during the discussion.
The board closed the procedural business and moved on to updates and new business later in the meeting.
