Farmington Council honors two Eagle Scouts and approves Veterans Day proclamation

The Farmington Town Council opened its Nov. 10 meeting with proclamations recognizing two local Eagle Scouts and adopting a Veterans Day proclamation.
Devion Bordloy of Troop 170 was cited for completing the requirements for Eagle Scout and for leading construction of a Gagaball game pit at East Farms Elementary School that included rubber safety surfacing, wall bumpers and an ADA‑accessible door. A council member read a Connecticut General Assembly citation introduced by Representative Mike D’Amico, Representative Rebecca Martinez, Senator Derek Slapp and Senator Rick Lopes congratulating Bordloy on the achievement.
The council also recognized Andrew Taubel of Troop 170 for work to enhance the Lieutenant Vincent World War II crash memorial. The proclamation credited Taubel with leading volunteers who logged roughly 360 hours to revitalize the memorial and build a roughly half‑mile trail to the site.
The council adopted a Veterans Day proclamation thanking local veterans and outlining the national history of the observance. Chair Joe Capodafero noted a Veterans Day ceremony scheduled at Town Hall on Nov. 11 at 11:00 a.m.
No formal votes were required for the proclamations beyond their presentation; the council moved promptly into regular business after the honorific items.
