Council rejects private fireworks permit at M1 Concourse after community concerns

"It was originally a birthday party... it's a private event," McGrain said.
Council members expressed concern about recurring private fireworks events and community impacts. After discussion, the council voted and the pyrotechnics resolution failed (recorded roll call: 2 yeas, 4 nays). The administration and M1 representatives were thanked for attending but the permit was not granted.
