"We received this grant in the amount of 1000000 dollars to help us, gain an inventory of our current, trees across the city of Pontiac," Campbell said, and she added the grant includes technical assistance from the American Forest organization.
Council members emphasized planning to avoid sidewalk and storm‑drain conflicts and asked for prioritized planting sites such as parks and medians rather than every neighborhood right‑of‑way. Staff said exact planting percentages and a timeline will depend on the contractor and the inventory results. The resolution to accept and appropriate the funds for tree inventory and related professional services passed by roll call (6‑0).
