Council told corrected exhibit list was delivered in retirees’ settlement talks; agreement expected next week if attorneys sign off

Public commenter Claudia Filla told council she had learned late that day the retirees had received a response from the city and urged a dedicated meeting with retirees to provide clarity. At the dais, Mayor Granville said the city provided names for exhibits to the city attorney and that the VEBA attorney corrected an earlier erroneous list and provided an updated list minutes before the meeting. "We should be able to get that information first thing in the morning over to Cipria's attorneys and, that will, conclude our modification and adding names to the list," the mayor said.
The mayor said the actuarial study has been authorized and (subject to confirmation of payment to the actuary) will be available to support bringing a finalized settlement amendment to council. Council expect the item could return for action on Sept. 17 if the retirees’ counsel signs off on the corrected exhibits.
