The RVB scribe board awarded a combined roof-project contract to RoofLynx at a low bid of $1,470,375, staff said during the Feb. 24 special meeting. Staff told the board the advertisement ran Jan. 18 and Feb. 4, with a pre-bid meeting Feb. 19 and a bid opening Feb. 17.
Martin Truesdell of Skillman Corporation, acting as construction manager, told the board that RoofLynx was the low bidder among seven or eight bids and recounted reference checks and a pre-award conference that included district representatives. Truesdell said staff checked prior clients and confirmed the company completed work to specification on recent projects.
Board members asked for confirmation of bidder staffing and allowances; staff said the pre-award conference and its documentation would be attached to the contract as contract exhibits. A motion to award the roof projects to RoofLynx was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
The contract award will be finalized with the usual contract documents and pre-award conference attachments; staff indicated they will ensure allowances and staffing commitments are reflected in the signed contract.
