Commission staff presented several administrative items to the Chilton County Commission, including an advertising renewal, plans for the county's 250th-anniversary activities and a budget status update.
Miss Sylvia asked the commission to consider renewing a Map Solutions map advertisement at a cost of $1,775 and noted the order must be placed by Feb. 10. Commissioners asked staff to confirm whether the maps are widely distributed by the chamber or advertisers before committing county funds.
On anniversary planning, commissioners discussed holding a courthouse grand-opening event possibly the Saturday before July 4 as part of the U.S. 250th observance and suggested burying a time capsule and scheduling a separate Memorial Day ceremony at the new memorial site.
Sylvia also reviewed 2026 budget figures, saying that revenues are 'top heavy' because recent collections cover the Oct.–Dec. period and that expenses currently appear in line with expectations. No formal budget actions were taken; these items were presented for commission direction and scheduling.
