Members noted that building‑code compliance, including fire‑marshal approval if required, remains necessary before final permitting.
The council voted to approve the variance—planning commission staff had recommended approval—while recording that obtaining any required fire‑marshal or state building‑code approvals will be the applicant’s responsibility.
