Board approves consent items including Pepsi beverage contract, fund closures and personnel slate; enters executive session

The Lebanon City Schools Board of Education approved a package of routine and substantive consent items at its meeting, including a beverage contract, fund cleanups and a broad set of personnel actions, and later voted to enter executive session on employee employment and compensation.
By unanimous roll call, trustees adopted the meeting agenda and approved financial items A–L, noting the treasurer’s May forecast and the audit-advisory review of many district accounts. The treasurer described a collection of roughly 200 special-cost-center accounts and recommended closing several inactive or small-grant funds and moving remaining balances to related building or the general fund where allowable by the Ohio Revised Code.
The board approved an agreement between Lebanon City Schools and G&J Pepsi Cola Bottlers effective Aug. 7, 2024, to provide beverage services. Superintendent Severs said the district’s bid process, required by law and the National School Lunch Program, produced a more favorable offer from Pepsi that included lower product costs, scholarships and rebate opportunities; he said vending and concession-machine revenue can be allocated to athletic or food-service budgets depending on placement.
Trustees also approved the annual board list of bus stops for the 2024–25 school year, a multi-item personnel packet (resignations; new hires pending background checks; substitute and supplemental adjustments; volunteer and coach appointments; stipends; leaves; monitors; accompanist; long-term substitutes; game workers; a tutor), and a series of donations and then-and-now transactions. All listed motions passed by roll call with votes recorded as yes by Missus Cope, Mister McCutcheon, Mister Gliotti, Mister Lane and Missus Dalton.
Near the meeting’s end the board voted unanimously to enter executive session to consider the employment and compensation of a public employee; the presiding officer said the board would take no action after executive session other than to adjourn.
The meeting contained no recorded final actions relating to the bullying allegation raised during public comment.
