At the May 5 meeting the Planning Board reviewed a site‑plan adjustment for Northstar Cantina, which would convert the front portion of an existing building to a year‑round barbecue bar operating with an on‑site food truck.
David Anjanen of Texas Grace Kitchen, speaking for the owner, said the plan moves the food‑truck trailer into a side yard to improve customer safety and site circulation and creates more outdoor dining in a side patio that has not historically been used. “We’re going to take the essentially, the front half of that building, put in a bar to run‑in conjunction with the food truck,” Anjanen said, adding that excavation would be needed to regrade the patio area and improve customer access.
Board members asked for clarifications about fencing for alcohol service (liquor licensing requirements are separate from site‑plan requirements) and whether the planned parking would meet ordinance standards. There were no public comments and the board moved to close the hearing; staff indicated no outstanding written comments and the board closed the hearing unanimously.
Next steps: staff will include plan notes and standard conditions as needed; if liquor licensing imposes additional fencing or coordination requirements, the applicant must provide that information when pursuing a liquor license.
