DeWarny announced a traffic pattern change: Cole Alley was made one-way effective June 6, running from Swain Avenue to West North Street; signage has been posted and property owners were notified 30 days in advance with no objections reported.
On utilities, DeWarny reported the pump-station rehabilitation began June 9 under a 120-day contract and "should be finished on or before October 7," with monthly progress meetings to update the council.
On legislative matters, DeWarny summarized three bills: House Bill 175 (an increase in DNREC fees introduced May 28, supported by the town and local governments), Senate Bill 159 (a conditional-use permit requirement for electrical substations, introduced May 21 and opposed by the town; it was voted out of committee June 2), and Senate Joint Resolution 8 (technical assistance for zoning reform introduced June 5, which the town supports).
