Council approves certified survey map to consolidate parcels for new fire station

City staff presented a certified survey map (CSM) on Jan. 14 to combine several city-owned parcels into a single legal parcel to accommodate the planned fire station and to formalize a small right-of-way adjustment for sidewalks and parking on Lewis Street.
Joe (city staff) said the CSM is primarily a housekeeping and legal-cleanup measure: parcels assembled over time from school-district transfers and subsequent purchases will be merged into one lot for the station. The map also cleans up an area where diagonal parking partially lies in the right-of-way.
A councilor moved to approve the CSM, a second was recorded, and the council voted to accept the survey map as presented. Staff said approval will allow the project to proceed with clearer legal boundaries and standard land-record steps.
No conditions beyond typical recording and deeds were included in the motion during the meeting.
