Earlier in the meeting council adopted a resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into a mutual aid agreement for fire and emergency medical services with Roanoke County; the measure passed by roll call. The mutual‑aid agreement is intended to formalize reciprocal assistance for fire and EMS responses between the city and county.
