The Washington County Board of Supervisors voted on a slate of resolutions and motions at its Feb. 20 meeting, adopting an amended introductory local law, approving several budget amendments and grant applications, and tabling a psychiatric-expense budget amendment pending additional staff information.
The board considered Introductory Local Law A of 2026, described in the notice as establishing the 2026 salary schedule for listed county officers. Supervisors amended the text to change the law’s assigned number so it will be enacted as Local Law number 1 rather than number 2; the amendment passed and the board then adopted the law as amended by roll call vote.
Among notable approvals, the board authorized submission of an Empire State Development Pro Housing Grant application for a bridge upgrade project and amended the application amount from $600,000 to $660,000 before carrying the resolution. The board also authorized the chairman to sign a contract with Slick Network Solutions, Inc., doing business as Slick Fiber, and adopted an audit-committee recommendation totaling $6,140,131.54.
In contrast, Resolution 77 (an amendment to the 2025 budget to increase psychiatric expense appropriation by $373,626) prompted multiple supervisors to request that finance staff (named in discussion as Al, Brian and Rob York) be present to answer questions. A motion to table Resolution 77 was made and adopted; the clerk recorded the tabling vote as 2,785 yes, 1,712 no, with one noted absence.
