Royal Palm Beach youth league reports strong signups, flags equipment supply delays

Royal Palm Beach youth baseball and softball officials reported healthy registration levels at the board’s August meeting, with the chair saying the baseball program has 153 registrants so far and softball sits at about 88 sign-ups.
The board’s finance update said the league is in a stable position with only two refund requests reported, and an annual audit expected this season. ‘‘We’ll have over probably $2.20 to $2.50 when it’s done,’’ the chair said about projected revenues and season receipts.
Officials warned of an equipment shortfall after vendors delayed shipments. ‘‘Rawlings is out of balls, if you can imagine that,’’ the chair said, adding staff are seeking alternate suppliers and pricing to maintain quality and continuity.
The board discussed outreach to recruit more coaches and volunteers ahead of evaluation sessions and draft night. Commissioners said younger divisions (5–10U) show stronger turnout, while older age groups remain slower to fill because of school-season conflicts.
The board moved to accept the reports presented and members answered ‘Aye’ on the voice vote; the transcript recorded no roll-call tally.
