Royal Palm Beach soccer program sets firm deadlines for coach background checks

"If their level 1 requirements are not completed in their entirety by Friday, 05:00, they will not be anywhere on that sideline," the leader said. The board said lanyard ID badges with photos, team number and RM number will be issued at uniform pickup only to those who have completed screening.
The program also said coaches who lack completed checks will not receive lanyards, shirts or the uniform package until they comply. Speaker 5 outlined a sign-out process for equipment and verification checks at uniform pick-up, including game balls, cones, bags and pennies, and emphasized managers must sign to confirm receipt.
The directive applies to both recreation and competitive programs and includes an operational change: recreation teams will be limited to two staff (head coach plus assistant or manager) and competitive teams to a maximum of three sideline personnel to limit the number of people requiring paid background checks.
The board said enforcement is intended to protect players and the program's compliance posture; it asked staff to circulate the deadline and said coaches who cannot meet requirements will be removed from rosters and TeamSnap until cleared. The meeting did not record any formal vote on the enforcement but the leader framed the policy as an immediate program rule.
The next procedural step is distribution of lanyard IDs and the collection of signed checklists at uniform pick-up; the board instructed staff to notify coaches of the Friday 5:00 p.m. deadline.
