Shawnee commission denies rezoning request for 1402 E. Independence

The Shawnee City Commission voted to deny a rezoning request for 1402 East Independence (Case RZ08-25) after debate about traffic data and developer qualifications.

Staff introduced the item as a request to rezone the property from C-1 (local commercial) to R-3 (high-density residential) and noted the case had been deferred from the January 20 meeting while the applicant gathered transportation information.
