Morrow County commissioners met Sept. 9 and completed a set of routine administrative actions, including approvals of bills and payments, several fund transfers, a personnel promotion and a resolution supporting a water conservation district’s bid to become a certified local sponsor with the Ohio Department of Agriculture.
During the consent and business portion of the meeting the clerk listed payments from Chesterville, Johnsonville, Ketterman and Pemelco customers and a Chesterville sewer inspection fee; commissioners voted to approve the listed bills. The board approved an appropriation tied to an RDA settlement for an entity identified in the record as “Converge.”
The board also approved transfers including a direct-check transfer from the treasurer fund, a transfer for the recycling fund and a cash transfer for the general fund; roll-call responses were recorded as affirmative by Commissioners Abraham, Siegfried and Mason.
Personnel business included a vote to promote Gloria Dean to assistant clerk to the Morrow County Board of Commissioners, effective immediately. The clerk read the promotion into the record and the commissioners approved the motion.
The board adopted a resolution supporting a local water conservation district becoming a certified local sponsor for an Ohio Department of Agriculture preservation program; the clerk read the resolution, a motion was made and seconded, and roll-call approval followed.
Doctor Becker provided construction updates on county projects at Home Road, reporting that most of the steel structure is in place and that roofing and siding work should begin soon. Becker said roofing was hoped to start “this week” and described progress on windows and other milestones.
The meeting recessed and later returned to regular session before the board considered and approved a motion to designate Jan. 18, 2018, as the county’s litigation-hold date for the opioid litigation (that action is covered separately). The board adjourned after completing the listed business.
