Morrow County commissioners approve routine payments, transfers and new 9-1-1 fund

Morrow County commissioners met Oct. 16 and approved a slate of routine fiscal items including vendor payments, several interfund transfers and the creation of a new fund to support the sheriff’s office 9-1-1 operations.
Speaker 3 moved to approve the minutes of the Oct. 9 meeting and to adopt the consent list of payments from Chesterville, Johnsonville, Katterman and Simulco customers; Speaker 1 seconded. The chair conducted roll-call confirmations of commissioners Abraham, Siegfried and Mason, all of whom were recorded as voting yes.
During the consent agenda, Speaker 3 also announced a wire transfer designated for the opioid trust and a transfer of funds to the board of elections. A separate motion to transfer monies into the engineer’s fund was likewise moved, seconded and approved by roll call.
The board approved a staff request authorizing the county auditor to establish a new, dedicated fund to house 9-1-1 revenue and expenditures for the sheriff’s office. The motion passed on the same unanimous roll-call pattern recorded for other consent items.
The meeting proceeded without recorded dissent on these items; no amendments or conditions to the motions were entered on the record. The board later recessed and returned to regular session before continuing other business.
