Morrow County commissioners approve broad consent agenda, contracts and appropriations

The Morrow County Board of Commissioners on Nov. 6 approved a broad consent agenda that included bills numbered 1 through 93, multiple targeted appropriations and a contract with the Morrow County Firefighters Association to provide countywide emergency services and coroner support.

The meeting’s consent items included a payment to engineering firm Corsa for work in Chesterville, Johnsonville and Ketterman; an appropriation for the Johnsonville Superfund; an appropriation for the Chesterfield fund; funding for general-fund janitorial services; a transfer to a DOT-related fund; an IT-services transfer; and a transfer to cover sheriff outside-housing costs. Commissioners also voted to journalize the county treasurer’s gap-sheet report to close business on Oct. 31, 2024, and to approve memoranda of understanding with the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board for fiscal year 2025.

A contract between the Board of County Commissioners and the Morrow County Firefighters Association for countywide emergency services and coroner support was presented and approved by motion. The board also accepted a newly filed bill (No. 1328) and approved an appropriation of $800 of certified, unappropriated monies to general-fund wages.

All motions on the consent agenda were moved, seconded and carried on roll call during the meeting. Roll-call prompts and affirmative responses were recorded for the votes; the transcript records affirmative responses by commissioners identified in the session as "Mister Abraham," "Mister Siegfried" and "Mister Mason." The motions were finalized at the Nov. 6 session; no amendments or defections were recorded during the meeting.

The board noted routine calendaring items—including observance of Veterans Day and the next scheduled session on Nov. 13—before adjourning.
