Morrow County approves rezoning for two parcels; Woodbury Solar reports well-attended public meeting

Morrow County commissioners on Nov. 20 approved a resolution to change two parcels from Agricultural to C-2 (Highway Business) and received a company update about a nearby solar project.

The board adopted the rezoning for parcel 8010010021301 and parcel A010010022810 after a motion and roll-call approval. The resolution reclassifies both parcels from agricultural use to a highway-business designation, a change the commissioners recorded as passed during the regular session.

The meeting also included a presentation by a Woodbury Solar representative, who said, “Woodbury Solar did host their public meeting, yesterday evening on Tuesday the nineteenth. It was a well attended event.” The representative summarized information provided to attendees about the project boundary, nameplate capacity, vegetative screening, drainage and points of interconnection, and said the company intends to continue working with residents and landowners to address questions and concerns.

Commissioners and township trustees attended the Nov. 19 public meeting, the representative said, and the company thanked commissioners for their participation. The board did not take a separate formal vote on the solar project at this meeting; discussion and public concerns about solar siting and impacts were noted as ongoing.

The zoning amendment and the Woodbury Solar update close with the board having approved the map change; the county clerk recorded the motion and roll-call approvals during the session. Next steps for the solar project were not decided at this meeting and will follow any required permitting and public-notice processes.
