A county official reported Dec. 2 that the county selected an architect for the JEM project but the contract has not yet been signed pending legal review.
"We selected an architect. So we received a contract. The legal had it, but they haven't signed off on it yet," the staff member said, and added that the county hopes to present a resolution and the award to the board on Wednesday.
The same staff update noted that related documents (referred to as "notes") were delivered to a facility serving 480 residents on Friday and that staff are working to finalize location and installation details. The staff member said the selected firm was the highest ranked during the selection process and that the project team remains confident in their recommendation.
No formal vote on the contract was recorded in the meeting; staff indicated the item would return for formal action once legal completes review and the resolution is prepared for the board.
