County staff updated the Board of Commissioners on fairgrounds accessibility improvements and small capital purchases intended for public use across the county. "We added some ramps going into a couple of the buildings where it's not level," staff member Nancy said, describing work to improve access for events and community members.
Nancy told the board the county is awaiting delivery of an accessible restroom trailer expected before December and has placed orders for tables and swings for parks; some concrete work has already been poured for installations. Staff emphasized these assets are intended for countywide public use, not limited to clients who receive board services.
The board welcomed the improvements and noted the projects were largely supported by available funds; staff said they had scrambled to secure additional grant funds when notified that extra money was available. Implementation tasks include completing remaining paving or framing decisions and finishing accessible restroom delivery and installation.
The board recorded these updates during the treasurer/staff presentation portion of the meeting.
