County staff finish CivicServe training, plan public-facing property and business registrations

County staff told the board on Feb. 18 that they completed the first official training on CivicServe, a county platform for managing property and business listings and supporting grant and economic development workflows.
Molly reported the platform is "really user friendly" and said staff held an introductory training last week and scheduled another session for county employees. She said staff have started entering land-bank properties and had "maybe 4 properties" on the platform so far, with another 30–40 properties ready to be entered by staff when time permits. The county plans to encourage businesses to register so the database can be used for business expansion and grant outreach.
Molly also said the platform includes both a public-facing side for community access and a staff-facing side for internal task assignment and follow-up tracking. The county used the Chamber breakfast as a soft launch opportunity to have businesses register and expects to push the system more broadly as training completes.
Next steps Staff will continue training sessions, expand property entries for the Land Bank, and promote the public registration features to local businesses. No motion or contract award tied to the platform was recorded at the meeting.
