Hunterdon County commissioners approve grants, contracts and introduce golf-rates ordinance

The board approved two Cultural & Heritage Commission grant agreements: $52,500 from the New Jersey Historical Commission and $200,000 from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts for the 2026 calendar year, both authorized by motion and roll-call vote after presentations by Natalie Zayman, director of Planning and Land Use.
Purchasing agent Ray Rule presented four procurement items the board approved by motion and roll-call vote: a heavy service truck with crane (requisition R25-7594) not to exceed $324,529.25; contract award RP-51-2025 to Marsh & McLennan Agency for risk-management and insurance-broker services; contract RP-93-2025 to New Tech Recycling for electronics recycling services; and a three-year refuse-and-recycling contract (bid 2025-22) with Republic Services, not to exceed $297,120.
Ryan Preston introduced an ordinance to set 2026 golf rates for Heron Glen, saying resident greens fees will remain flat with only nominal adjustments to nonresident fees and memberships; the board voted to introduce ordinance "20 26 01" and set the second-reading public hearing for Feb. 17, 2026 at 5:30 p.m.
