At the start of the Nov. 5 meeting the Hunterdon County Board of Commissioners presented three proclamations.
Director Lanza introduced a proclamation acknowledging Justice Peter Venero on the occasion of a portrait unveiling to be hung in the Hunterdon County Courthouse. The board approved the proclamation by roll call.
The board recognized Brian Moore, a West Amwell Township resident, in connection with a Guinness World Record referenced in the meeting for a very tall sunflower; Moore spoke briefly from the podium to clarify breeding and growth details and the board approved the proclamation.
The board also approved a proclamation recognizing Karen Whitaker for her work with SAFE in Hunterdon and her years of service on the nonprofit board; Commissioner Cool presented the award in her stead.
All three proclamations were moved, seconded and approved by roll call.
