The board approved the appointment by roll call with Commissioners Cooper, Luciano, Richardson, Seybold, Vice President Murray Thomas and President Palmeiras voting yes; Commissioners Gill, Mercado and Sermons were recorded absent.
The appointment places a long‑serving staff member into the statutory role without additional salary, according to St. John. The board offered congratulations and the item concluded without further debate.
