Camden County swears in three commissioners, elects leadership and adopts 57 resolutions

Colleen Bianco Bezic, Jennifer Cooley Fleischer and Edward McDonald were sworn in as Camden County commissioners at the board’s annual reorganization meeting, and the board moved quickly to confirm its leadership and priorities for the year.
Camden County Clerk Pamela Lampitt administered the oath to Colleen Bianco Bezic. Congressman Donald Norcross administered the oaths to Jennifer Cooley Fleischer and to Edward McDonald. After the oaths, Commissioner Jeff Nash nominated Louis Cappelli Jr. to serve as director for 2026; the nomination was seconded and approved by a roll-call vote of the commissioners present. The board said Cappelli’s formal administration of the director oath will occur at a later date because he is recovering from an illness.
Commissioner Young nominated Edward McDonald to serve as deputy director. That nomination was seconded and approved by roll call, and the oath was administered. Commissioners offered brief remarks welcoming the new members and praising staff and local officials supportive of county efforts.
The board then moved to consider routine business, proposing an en bloc vote on resolutions numbered 1 through 57. The motion to adopt resolutions 1–57 as a group was made, seconded and carried on a roll call with all present commissioners voting in the affirmative.
During public comment, an online participant, Kate Delaney of Collingswood, asked whether Resolution 56, which ratifies the annual salary of the Camden County surrogate, represented a change in salary and requested full copies of the resolutions for public review. The deputy director responded that Resolution 56 reflects a statutory salary adjustment and that the full text of the resolutions will be posted after the meeting. The board noted the resolutions will be made available following the session.
The meeting included introductions and brief remarks from visiting officials, including Congressman Donald Norcross and State Senator Nilsa Cruz-Perez, and remarks by local municipal leaders and county officials. Commissioners highlighted priorities for the coming year—citing parks expansion, water and air quality work, public safety initiatives and continued focus on county services—before taking a motion to adjourn.
Actions taken at the meeting were procedural and organizational: swearing in three commissioners, confirming leadership roles, adopting a package of resolutions, and formally closing the public hearing and adjourning. The board stated that copies of the adopted resolutions will be posted online after the meeting for public inspection.
