The Senate Education Committee unanimously recommended two trustee reappointments to the full Senate.
Andy Feinstein, president of the University of Northern Colorado, asked the committee to reappoint Annette Martinez to UNC's Board of Trustees, praising her three decades of executive experience and active campus engagement. Martinez described her service as a trustee, her history as a UNC alumna, and her work on presidential evaluation, the foundation liaison role, and other campus committees. Senator Kipp moved the committee’s favorable recommendation; the roll call returned unanimous support.
Paul Major, appearing remotely, described a career spanning Olympic alpine ski coaching, founding and running the Telluride Foundation, and recent work as an affordable housing developer. He told the committee he chairs Fort Lewis College’s business affairs committee and emphasized fiscal stewardship and low tuition relative to peer institutions as motivations for serving on the board. Senator Marshman moved a favorable recommendation for Major, and the committee voted unanimously to send his reappointment to the full Senate.
Both confirmations were recorded as unanimous committee recommendations; each will be considered by the full Senate under its regular confirmation process.
