Baggetta said 2023 was a busy year for residential burglaries: Ladera and Portola Valley each recorded six burglaries and Woodside recorded 21, and detectives had a preliminary hearing scheduled the next day for a suspect they said was responsible for many local incidents. "It only takes them 5 minutes to be in and out at most," Baggetta said when describing how quickly burglars can operate.
