At the end of the April 16, 2025 Planning Commission meeting, planning staff announced that the Town Council selected Jason Ledbetter to serve as Woodside's new town manager; staff said Ledbetter is expected to start May 15 and noted his current role as city manager in Yreka and prior county experience.
Staff also told commissioners the Planning Department will begin work on several code changes, including an expected review of accessory dwelling unit (ADU) regulations and potential zoning updates to align with new fire-district standards. Commissioners discussed the town's defensible-space reimbursement and home-hardening programs and offered to support outreach and public sessions to solicit citizen input on no-brainer zoning adjustments to improve fire safety.
Staff said additional code changes are likely and that the commission will be asked to dedicate time in coming meetings to review those items.
