"We're looking now probably more of days instead of weeks," Speaker 3 said, summarizing work by county crews on plumbing, electrical, painting and removal of construction debris. The fire-sprinkler contractor and the fire marshal conducted an inspection and issued a small punch list that staff expect to resolve quickly.
Staff reported frontline ambulances are ready to run out of the station. A second ambulance has persistent electronic issues; the dealer estimated about $15,000 to rewire the unit. "It's not worth that," Speaker 3 said, and staff intend to surplus the vehicle through county surplus procedures and ultimately send it to auction.
Next steps: staff plan to bring before the commission photographs showing the before-and-after condition of the station at the next meeting and to schedule a walkthrough once the punch list is cleared.
